The assessment consists of a detailed medical history, movement exam, treatment, and rehab exercises. This appointment is for people experiencing joint, bone, or muscle pain anywhere in the body. 

I can help individuals with improving their physical activity and building strength. 

Appointment Time: 60-70 minutes in duration.

I encourage patients to book a follow-up appointment (45 minutes) 2-3 weeks after their assessment. This will ensure you're not waiting too long in-between appointments.

This appointment is for babies, toddlers, and children. This appointment is for: Torticollis, Plagiocephaly, Gross Motor Delay (If you need help with sitting, crawling,  standing or walking). I can help toddlers/children with toe walking and other concerns regarding gross motor develeopment. For older children I can help with severs disease, jumpers knee or any other bone, joint for muscle issue.

Peadiatric Assessment

This assessment is designed to educate women on the changes occurring in their bodies prior or during pregnancy. You will learn about your “deep core” system, how to protect yourself from incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse, and lower back/pelvic pain. You will learn the importance of proper breathing strategies, appropriate aerobic and strength training recommendations to reduce your risk of metabolic diseases in pregnancy. You can start seeing a pelvic floor physiotherapist in any trimester of pregnancy or better yet, when you are trying to conceive! 

As your pregnancy progresses, you will learn about how to prepare for labour and delivery, labour and birth positions, pushing strategies, perineal stretching and massage, breastfeeding postures and advice for postpartum healing. I will review torticollis education and how to best support your baby with their gross motor skills.

I encourage patients to book a follow-up appointment (45 minutes) 2-3 weeks after their assessment. This will ensure you're not waiting too long in-between appointments.

Preconception/Prenatal Physiotherapy Assessment

This appointment can take place 6 weeks postpartum and is appropriate for women who have birthed vaginally or via c-section. The purpose of this appointment is to review your medical history including your pregnancy and labour and delivery in detail and review your goals for returning to physical activity. You will be assessed for diastasis recti, learn the importance of your deep core and breathing, learn c-section or perineal scar tissue massage (if necessary), and begin commencing an individualized rehab program.

If you consent to a vaginal internal (never mandatory) you will be assessed for prolapse, and scar tissue healing. You will be directed on proper pelvic floor exercises to commence. 

This is a long appointment (90) minutes. Please feel free to bring your baby to the appointment. 

What to know if you are interested in booking for Diastasis Recti assessment:

Diastasis is a completely normal process of pregnancy; however, some moms need a bit more help with healing. My goal is to see you less often in the clinic as I understand as a new mom it is challenging to book numerous appointments. I will perform a full-body assessment and create a rehab program which is typically accomplished within 1-2 appointments, but please know that diastasis rehab involves performing a home exercise program at least ~3x per week (about 15-20 minutes per session) to see results. This may be challenging for some new moms to devote this much time to rehab so please book when you feel you are ready to commit to a program. Every person will rehab differently and it’s very important to note that diastasis can take anywhere from two months to 2 years to rehab.

Postnatal Physiotherapy Assessment

This is a follow-up treatment appointment for individuals who have been assessed by Kelly Small. 

Please only use this appointment if you have recently been assessed by Kelly within the last 3 months. If this is your first appointment postpartum, please select the postpartum assessment for returning patients.

45 minutes is typically recommended.

This appointment is reserved for any person who is experiencing stress/urge incontinence, prolapse symptoms, diastasis recti/hernias & pelvic or tailbone pain.

Follow Up Appointments for Pelvic Floor

This virtual appointment is for those who are trying to conceive or newly pregnant.  

Exercise is vital for a healthy pregnancy. Proper aerobic and strength training can safeguard you and your baby from adverse pregnancy outcomes and can also protect both of you from future metabolic disease. 

We will review the importance of physical activity in pregnancy and create a plan that you can implement into your busy life. We will review pelvic floor and core health as well as changes during pregnancy, and posture awareness and address any other concerns you may have.

Prenatal Physiotherapy Assessment

Although an in-person session would be beneficial for the future - I understand how hard it is getting out of the house with a newborn. Within this session, we will review your pregnancy, and birth, educate and demonstrate on proper exercises to start your postpartum rehab. This appointment can commence as soon as you feel ready after a vaginal delivery and 6 weeks postpartum after a c-section.

Postnatal Assessment (Virtual)

This appointment is for individuals interested in exercise programming to enhance their metabolic health, muscular strength, rehab postpartum, or reduce injuries. Conducted in virtually via TEAMS, I will assess your workout space and equipment to create a personalized program for you which will be reviewed during your follow-up appointment.

I will conduct a thorough assessment to understand your health, and exercise goals, and review existing injuries. As I will need time to design and create your program, Kelly will schedule a follow-up appointment at the end of your assessment. The price of this appointment also reflects the time it will take to create your personalized program.

This appointment is for individuals interested in exercise programming to enhance their metabolic health, muscular strength, rehab postpartum, or reduce injuries. Conducted in person or virtually, I will assess your workout space and equipment to create a personalized program for you which will be reviewed during your follow-up appointment.
